Hi, I'm Dominic

I like computers and cars.

General

My name is Dominic, I'm years old and I live in Germany. I passed my exam in 2017 and studied computer science (main subject) with business economics (side subject) until 2020 at the University of Augsburg, where I got my B. Sc. degree.

I work as a Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer (Full Stack) at a company in Augsburg. Additionally, I run my own side business in which I develop Windows desktop applications using .NET.

I speak 4 languages: German, English, French and Spanish. At the moment, I am also learning Russian and Italian.

Computers

Writing software is an essential part of my life. I have experience in multiple programming languages, but mostly use Ruby on Rails with HTML, CSS (SASS) and JS for web applications. I mostly develop my desktop applications using C# (.NET). I've also tried other languages like VB.NET, C, C++, Java, PHP and Swift, but haven't used them too much due to lack of possible use or better alternatives.

My favorite languages are Ruby and C#. I'm also experienced in relational databases with PostgreSQL and a bit of frontend framework stuff with Vue.js.

Although it's my focus, not everything is about software. I've also built my 5800€ high-end gaming PC with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, NZXT Kraken X73 and a GeForce RTX3090 in 2021. You may read its detailled specs below.

Research and Papers

During my studies, I did some research on Automotive Software Engineering, focusing on AMALTHEA/APP4MC, which is a model-based platform for building and optimizing embedded software systems for multicore CPUs.

  • SCA2AMALTHEA - Verwendung, Konzept und Erweiterung (2021)

Cars

I love cars and modifying them. It's my most expensive hobby, but it's really fun. I see them as a masterpiece of engineering. I am really interested in technical aspects of cars, like ECUs (software), engines, transmissions, suspensions, exhaust systems and more.

I am driving a customized BMW M2 F87 LCI with the well-sounding N55-engine, releasing 370hp of power based on 460Nm (500Nm overboost) of torque. It's got a KW V3 suspension for ideal driving dynamics and Edelweiss LT°5 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires for a maximum of street performance + occasional race track uses. The M-Performance rear muffler/exhaust system delivers an outstanding sound atmosphere.

I also have a BMW G31 M550d Touring (xDrive) for comfortable and fast daily driving.
